JOYFUL HEARTS
The name for all of our Senior Adult Ministries and Activities is "Joyful Hearts."

JOYFUL HEARTS
Our next meeting for "Joyful Hearts" will be on Monday, October 25th, at 6:00 P.M., in the Fellowship Hall.  We look forward to the Fellowship together and our Special Program.  We will have a Covered Dish Meal and we will take donations to help cover the cost of the meat.  Make your plans to join us for a great evening of food, fun and fellowship.

JOYFUL HEARTS CHOIR

Our JOYFUL HEARTS CHOIR will rehearse in the Choir Room every Monday in September, except September 6th, due to the Labor Day Holiday.  We invite you to join us as we work on our Christmas Music, The Gift Goes On, to be presented with the Youth Choir on November 28th at 6:00 P.M.  With this special Christmas Worship Service, we will officially kick-off the Christmas Music Season.  During the last couple of weeks before the Special Service, we will have “Secret Grands” (Secret Pals), where members of each choir will swap simple gifts and pray for each other.  After we sing in the Service on November 28th, we will have a Fellowship to enjoy some snacks together and to reveal our “Secret Grands.”

UPCOMING EVENTS

In preparation for and to help with the expenses of the Senior Adult Mission Trip, October 6-10, we will be having a TASTE OF TALENT in the Family Life Center for a Church-wide Fellowship after the Evening Worship Service on September 19th. As you enter the gym, we are asking everyone to please make a Donation to go toward the Senior Adult Mission Trip. You will be able to sample all different types of Desserts and Finger Foods! As a highlight of “Taste of Talent,” we will also enjoy some Special Music by some of our F.B.C. Members. You definitely will “not” want to miss this “Taste of Talent!” Thank you for helping to make it possible for us to go and to minister to others in Jesus’ Name.

Pray for all of our Senior Adults who have made preparations to attend the WAKE UP AMERICA CONFERENCE, sponsored by the Scott Dawson Evangelistic Association, Tuesday through Friday, September 21st through 24th.
Speakers are:  Mike Huckabee, Tony Evans, Chonda Pierce, and Scott Dawson.
Music Concerts will be shared by:  Charles Billingsley and the Booth Brothers.
Praise and Worship will led by:  Michael and Linda Adler, Worship Leaders at Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
Registration and Full Balances are now closed.
Please pray for us as we travel, and as we attend the conference.  Pray that God will inspire us, empower us, encourage us and to challenge us to be all He wants us to be as we serve Him together.  Pray that we will be strengthened in every way to wake up, to look up to the Lord for guidance, and to stand up boldly for Him in this troubled world in which we live.

Please continue to pray for the JOYFUL HEARTS MISSION TRIP TO GULF SHORES, AL, as we serve the Lord during the 39th Annual National Shrimp Festival, October 6th through 10th, 2010.  We will depart on Wednesday morning and return Sunday afternoon.  We will again lodge in the Retreat Center at the Romar Beach Baptist Church and work with the Baldwin Baptist Resort Ministry under the tent in the Children’s Event Area.  We will be doing Crafts, taking Prayer Requests, Praying, and handing out Bibles.  Remember our challenge from Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  (In thinking of where we live, the interpretation would be, "and you will be my witnesses in Alabaster, and in all of Alabama and the U.S.A., and to the ends ot the earth.")
