Daniel Yates
Minister of Music
Daniel is an Alabaster native, having grown up in the city and graduated from Thompson High School in 2013. He grew up in the student ministry at FBCA and was a leader within the ministry during his high school days. Following his time at THS, Daniel went to the University of Montevallo where he majored in Music Education with a concentration in Choral Music. He graduated Cum Laude in the spring of 2018 and proceeded to begin his graduate work at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary that fall, where he is currently working on completing his Masters of Arts degree in Christian Education with a concentration in Worship Ministries.
Daniel accepted the call of God upon his life into vocational ministry during his senior year in high school and began serving churches in the area of Music Ministry following graduation. He has served at FBCA in numerous roles over the last several years and came on staff full time in March of 2017. Daniel's passion is music, but his purpose is reaching people for the sake of the gospel. Daniel's desire is to help create an environment within the local church that is conducive for true and genuine worship to take place, allowing the Spirit of God to move in and through his people as we gather together to lift high the name of Jesus.
Daniel married his wife, Amber, in June 2017, and they have three children, Emmalyn, James and Lizzie (due in June 2023).
In his free time, Daniel loves to read, spend time with his family, cheer on the Atlanta Braves and the Crimson Tide of Alabama, and officiate baseball and football.
