Join us on a journey of building a legacy of faith into the next generation. FBCA Kids' Walk the Path program is designed to equip parents to recognize, celebrate, and nurture milestone moments in their child's spiritual development. We encourage parents to use the resources provided for each milestone as you build a legacy of faith in your family.
Parent & Child Dedication is a ceremony where parents present their child before God and their church family, asking for His grace and wisdom in carrying out their parental responsibilities, and praying their child will one day fall in love with Christ and live for God. It is an opportunity for family and friends to acknowledge publicly their support for the parents in fulfilling their vows.
When children begin five-year-old kindergarten, they will begin attending worship with their family each Sunday. FBCA Kids will provide a Big Church Bag for each child to help with this transition. It is filled with quiet items to help your child as they observe and participate in worship.
In first grade, our children will participate in a Bible Presentation Service. Together with our 1st grade Sunday School teachers, parents will present their child with a Bible and commit to learning and reading the Bible together.
An important milestone in the life of every person is salvation and baptism. We partner with and equip parents to lead their kids toward a faith commitment and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Unlike the other milestones, this milestone is personal and can happen at anytime. FBCA Kids will provide seminars on leading your child to Christ and classes for new believers.
The transition from kids to student ministry is full of excitement and questions for both children and parents. To assist with this next step, FBCA Kids and student ministries will work together for a one-day retreat for our 6th graders and their parents.
Parent Resources
While the spiritual milestones above are worthy of recognition and celebration, we know that many other issues and events will happen as you walk the path with your children. We want to provide access to additional resources that will assist you as you raise your children to be followers of Jesus.
